ABC News' Jake Tapper is reporting that Jesse Ventura will run for US Senate. However, we still believe Ventura is not jumping into the race. Tapper is basing his report on an NPR piece by David Welna. In the piece, Ventura never directly says he's going to run. We don't think we can officially say that Jesse is running, yet. We will see on the 15th.
Let's review why we think he won't run:
- Senate elections have no campaign financing; Jesse would need to raise at least a million dollars. Something we don't think he wants to do.
- Running for Senate requires a massive amount of work: campaigning across the state every day. Something we don't think he wants to do.
- Jesse is selling a book. It it advantageous to keep his name in the public eye.
- If Ciresi reenters the race, we believe it will scare off Jesse. Ventura will wait until the last moment to see what Ciresi does.
One never knows with Jesse Ventura, so we will only know if he's running when he files.

Another Call in...
This is the exact kind of response to Franken that we're worried about. Listen to this call in from a DFLer who's considering voting for Coleman. :(
Go to the bottom of the page to leave a message for the blog and we'll post it. All you have to do is type your number into the Grand Central box and presto, Grand Central will call your phone. Then all you to do is pick up and you're connected to our voicemail.

Not sure if your aware but Jesse has run a state wide race before and won, oh and the political big shots coming to town to fundraise for Jesse amount to more then just Bloomberg.
It's scary how easy Jesse can play people for fools.
Well, we will see. No one can actually know what Jesse is going to do, including Jesse himself. He would shake things up, yes, but not as much as if Ciresi ran and beat Franken in the primary.
